We are looking for staffers and volunteers to help our candidate create political change in his district. Our grassroots campaign seeks to reach all demographics, as the district is very diverse. Josh Becker is running to represent almost 1,000,000 Californians in the State Senate. The district stretches from South San Francisco to Sunnyvale and is in the top 20 GDP’s in the world. While a prosperous area, the district also faces a number of issues.
Josh’s main priorities are protecting the environment, housing/transportation, and early childhood education. He has been a champion on environmental justice for decades, from his start as a consultant for the EPA out of college to starting Cleantech for Obama. In 2000, Josh created the Full Circle Fund (FCF). FCF is a community leadership and policy innovation organization that funds non-profits creating positive change in the Bay Area and building civic leaders for the future. Josh has been the driving force for FCF, which has supported policy innovations and community organizations in economic opportunity, education, environmental sustainability, and health. Josh has served for five years on the California State Workforce Development Board (appointed by Governor Jerry Brown) and serves on the Child Care Partnership Council in San Mateo County. He is a Founding Trustee at the University of California Merced. He graduated from Williams College and went on to receive his JD/MBA from Stanford, and in 2011, Josh joined Lex Machina, where the mission is bringing openness and transparency to the law. As CEO, he grew the company from a Stanford University public interest project into a nationally recognized platform. Most recently he founded a legal tech accelerator to support entrepreneurs who want to innovate in our legal and public policy system. Josh grew up in suburban Philadelphia. His father was a law professor and his mother was a social worker and biology teacher. Both were active in their local communities and instilled in Josh a desire to help and serve.
